Working with your property and your budget.....

Velux Conversion

This is the easiest and generally
cheapest way to convert your existing loft space as there are no alterations to the existing roof apart from the installation of roof windows.   Some conversions of this type do not require planning permission as they fall within 'permitted development' but all will require building regulation approval.

Dormer Conversion

A dormer conversion is a great option when the existing roof space is at a minimum.  Usually used in mid-terraced/detached properties this can create a master bedroom with an en-suite.  Planning permission will be needed if it exceeds permitted development plus party wall agreements and building regulations.

Gable Dormer Conversion

Semi-detached and end-of-terraced properties will mainly use this type of conversion to fully maximise the floor area of the loft space.  A large master bedroom with en-suite/two smaller bedrooms with en-suites can usually be created from this space.  Planning permission, party wall agreements and building regulations will be required.
